The snow and ice are finally starting to melt with one of the first thaws of the year.
I was sitting outside on the back steps with the camera and noticed this Japanese maple leaf struggling to free itself from the ice.
The thing I like most about this photo is that even the portion of the leaf still encased in ice is in focus. I have to say I love my Zeiss lenses.
