The photography tour at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum is just a couple of days over a month away. I won't deny that I am just a "little" excited. Again this photo was from my first visit to the TALA.
It is such a beautiful building.
There is a ghost tour the night before the photo tour that I was going to attend to look for ghosts. Then I remembered what Amy Allan said about ghosts. Leave them alone is the best advice. And really, ... I am OK with with leaving them alone.
I have done a little night photography but not very much. My goal is now to head down for the all night ghost tour, but instead of looking for ghosts, use it to take night photos of the hospital. I want to capture the beauty of the building at night.
Hopefully, that night the sky is clear and those long exposures turn out. The up-side is apparently the way the building was built is so that when the sun rises, the morning sun passes through the beveled glass of the front doors and casts refracted light throughout the entire entrance way. The "well" behave patients were allowed to see the sunrise and the light "rainbows" in the entrance way.
Ghost tour ends and photography tour starts hopefully, if they let me stay inside for that couple of hours between tours. I promise to be good. Let me see the sunrise!
This photo was of a bathroom in the TALA.
