Garlic

It is a weird subject for a blog, but it is a key ingredient in almost every recipe.  My inlaws swore it was the fountain of youth.

Allium sativum is a species in the onion genus, Allium.  Its close relatives include the onion, shallot, leek, chive, and rakkyo.

All I know is makes meals taste absolutely amazing.  So to honour this somewhat less than glamourous champion of the culinary world, I have decided to post some pictures I took while making my South Miami Cuban Stew.

In my own opinion the garlic with the purple tint is the best tasting.
